What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a unique approach to healthcare. It’s simple, safe and scientific. Chiropractic works with your body and its amazing ability to keep you healthy. Chiropractic recognises four simple facts.

  1. Your body is self healing and regulating, your body is always striving towards health, even when you may not feel so good.

  2. Your brain and body are in constant communication through your nervous system, this is the master control system of your entire body.

  3. Any interference to your nervous system, can result in a breakdown in the communication between your brain and body, and ultimately can compromise your bodies ability to function well. This interference to the nervous system is what chiropractors refer to as a subluxation.

  4. The role of your Chiropractor is to help bring about the correction of these subluxations to improve brain-body communication allowing improved function and wellbeing. Corrections are brought about through gentle and specific adjustments.

The purpose of chiropractic is to help people reach and maintain optimal health and wellbeing through care of their spine and nervous system.

Our Approach

Our approach is primarily lighter force adjusting suitable for all body types. The techniques used at Creating Wellness include:

  • Activator Methods – uses a hand-held instrument that is light and effective

  • Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) – uses very light touches to stimulate the nerve system

  • Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET) - a mind-body technique used to reduce neurological imbalances related to the physiology of unresolved stress

  • Thompson Technique – uses a specialized table with “drop pieces” for gentle, quicker manual adjustments

  • Torque Release Technique (TRT) – uses a hand-held instrument and focuses on tension on the spinal cord

  • Webster Technique - is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment used on pregnant women

  • Cranial - gentle adjustments used with babies, children and adults to optimise the function of the cranial bones and associated soft tissues.
